  12. Those of us who have logged in today have completed. Leftovers due to poor participation. Maybe you may relax by allowing 1/2 more person now or later.
1 hour is quite liberal if the other one is on par with this, esp. for the top rankers. Was there a tie for some places?

    1. Very tame game? I don't understand why or in what way.
The deadline was 6-30 and before that I think all except two were taken.
These by 9 solvers, each taking the full quota of three each.
I think only two (less than a person's quota) remained unsolved after the deadline and these were also solved by a solver, entering for the second time but again as per regulation.
If you mean that you solved it in 20 mins and this puz should have been gobbled up in ten minutes by a rush of solvers - that we cannot always expect. All said and done, crossword solving is an individual game or a two-person game between the setter and the solver. Not a group activity.

  23. A finalist who could not come to the finals told me today that he wanted to take a printout and time his attempt. There might be many such and this may be the reason.
