ReplyDelete1 When canines go at each other, it’s high-level conflict (8) DOGFIGHT (CD)
I would call this a DD, high level conflict as in dogfight in the air a la Richtofen.
I intended it as DD as my thought process was the same as yours - except for the last three words. I can never beat you in GK.
DeleteSure you can. You are just being modest !
DeleteThe secretary in an office got a call asking, instead of 'May I', 'Can I speak to Mr So-and-so?'. She said, 'Of course, you can. But when would you like to speak to him?'
DeleteMy print copy was not delivered today. When I saw the puzzle on the Internet I was as pleased as my wife when at last one crow came to eat her coloured rice balls.
ReplyDeleteHi all..wish u all a very happy pongal.felt bad for having not visited this site for nearly a week.
ReplyDeleteIf there is a meet in chn,i would like to attend too.my mail id is drgayathri1974@gmail.com.
I would be honoured to host the meet too
good day.
I'd like to meet the host too, but sorry cant make it for the next month or so.
DeleteFORSAKE is my COD too. For gods sake, meet at a god forsaken place for good sake.
But for the distance, I would have made it too to meet a lot of blog friends. Paddy has not been seen or heard here. Maybe busy with the spadework for S&B Meet.
DeleteAs for the point made by Raju below, I too have a special liking for the mantra, which, by all counts, is one of the most secular, all-inclusive and univeral prayers.
ॐ भूर्भुव: स्व: तत्सवितुर्वरेण्यं । भर्गो देवस्य धीमहि, धीयो यो न: प्रचोदयात् ।।
Aum Bhur Bhuvah Swah, Tat Savitur Varenyam
Bhargo Devasya Dhimahi, Dhiyo Yo Nah Prachodayat
Oh God, the Protector, the basis of all life, Who is self-existent, Who is free from all pains and Whose contact frees the soul from all troubles, Who pervades the Universe and sustains all, the Creator and Energizer of the whole Universe, the Giver of happiness, Who is worthy of acceptance, the most excellent, Who is Pure and the Purifier of all, let us embrace that very God, so that He may direct our mental faculties in the right direction.
Did the Crossie on Orkut-- fairly simple. I liked SINE DUBIO. refreshing clue. No way of saving except on line? No print out possible?
ReplyDeleteWill now try the Sunday Special, Thanks to the Col.
Kishore: + I take her name daily in my prayers OM BHurbhuva swaha-----
You can ask Bhavan to send you the pdf copy of the CW which you can print
Delete+1 for Bhavan's opening remark. For-sake was too good.
ReplyDeleteThanks Deepak. Bhavan has already sent me and aI have thanked him He's so considerate of my collections.
ReplyDeleteRichard: Yes indeed. It is an Universal Mantra that transcends all. Being a Brahmin by birth, but now a lapsed one, I glean for peace from all religions. Though not irreligious strictly, I'm totally into spirituality and the universality of all creations of God .
