    1. Nice one CV Sir.
In Hindi, there is a term "Manohar Kavi" for a poet who can compose verse impromptu. Atal Bihari Bajpayee was one. I am reminded of that.

    2. I just do it. I don't have any pretensions of a poet on the trot. There is also the term aasu kavi.

    1. If you mean randomly as an indicator for alternate letters it is odd. Or do you mean Cats for big ones?

      Delete
    2. I didn't solve this puz. However, as I ead the clue I thought 'big ones' was not adequate enough or even quite correct as a def. In any case I was thinking only of the device - picking up letters from a phrase backward. Has it been used in THC?

      Delete
    3. the search indicates usage as anagram indicator. but odd is listed as synonym of random.

      Delete
    4. Thanks CV Sir for the points as well as administering the show in my sleep time.

Picking up letters from a phrase backward is not uncommon and I remember to have seen somewhere either in TH or Guardian. I cannot, of course, lay my hands on immediately. Regarding the def. part, I agree it has partly suffered as it is indirect. I used the dictionary meaning "big cat" for this clue.

  30. I couldn't actively participate in this wonderful wordplay created by KKR. I was away to Anaikatti to meet old friends from Nairobi- a couple from Madras and returned after 6pm.Enjoyed it thoroughly.

In passing: I had put in INSERTION instead of INCURSION and got stumped with COSMOCRAT. Then I corrected myself But in good humour and without any innuendo intended, if one read the clue of 15 down, one would find the answer rather appropriate !! CV will have a good laugh !!! and
