With the TEAMING UP of Margarita and Shelley many more PASSIONS were kindled. What with the CONSENT of Clement the dances becoming furthermore OVERT.

Gaining entrance was quite a STAMPEDE. GIANT crowds. Even a CLERIC famed for being ABSTINENT  was occasionally seen earning the REPRIMAND of the locals.

There was NON STOP clapping as the two danced to the KETCHUP song "Aserege". The forward leaning of the enthusiastic put PISA to shame.

 Linda's new found LUST for money made her buy an IRONCLAD safe to put away her share of the spoils!

Those awaiting suspense in the NARRATIVE will be happy to LEARN that Gombu was on the way to Shangri-la in an OVERLADEN truck!!

      I don't think so. M clearly stood for Macdonalds. S seems to be for Suzuki, I am not sure.

    What is the definition for BIRTHRATE? If it is the whole clue, what does it mean to say "their brat is included in birthrate"?

      Brat is colloq for child. Birthrate is ratio of live child births per 1000 in a year.

      Brat is a mischievous kid, not a newborn baby. By the clue's logic, can you and me also included in birthrate?

      yup. we are still alive means we were include in the birthrate. may not be this year. child is a child, does not imply of any certain age. please look at dictionary, brat is a child.

      Any living or dead creature (not just humans) is part of some birthrate but that is too vague for defining the term

    Generally, when you see long long, you tend to connect the two and think in terms of long long ago etc. Here, they are split with one of them being a def. Nice enjoyable ploy (of course,after we crack it!)
    Chairs in parliament (with Col.'s addition)- we don't have to imagine. We see it on TV fairly frequently.
