  1. 16A- We have to get 'dearly' from 'extremely'?

    1. Yes, because they are synonyms.
      I miss my grandparents dearly.
      I miss my grandparents extremely.

  2. I could not get Blue chip stock so easily!! Had to wait for crossings. But L&T is a good example.

  3. 25A- Trite- tired. Free Dic.says it is archaic meaning. Haven't come across in recent usages.

    1. No, it is not archaic. 'He uses the same tired old jokes.' That's standard usage.
I can't see any ref in Free Dic calling it 'archaic'. See Chambers online if you don't have BRB.

    Dont think lie-in is sleeping.
Also imho, late in the morning, is a phrase. Cutting it requires an indication.

    1. Lying in, synonym for 'sleeping in' or having a treat in bed (a lie-in)

      Delete
    2. According to Free Dic. 'Lying in' is 'Lengthy bed rest after childbirth'! I have heard that usage and double checked now.

    3. Looks like 'Lie in' is ok for sleeping late. But the problem comes when extending it to lying in.

    4. Don't you have the BRB?
Lie-in (noun) : a longer than usual stay in bed in the morning. (Note it is with the hyphen)
      Lying-in (noun): confinement during childbirth
Lie in (verb): to stay in bed later than usual, to be in the state of giving birth to a child (old)
The enum is 5, 2. So it defines the verb 'lying in'. Not the noun 'lying-in' (5-2)

    1. Answer appears to be right.
      My question is
      What is represented by “rubbish-heaps”
      Is it spit? How?

    2. Rubbish heaps are pits and 'all round' is the anind and not exactly reversal as shown in the solution. I also initially thought it was a reversal.

    3. Anind makes it indirect, paddy.

    4. But we cant get it with reversal of 'Pits'. It will be DE(STIP)E
