  1. Could you please help clarify this clue: Try rum to have fun and finally become happy (4-8) GOOD-HUMOURED {GO}{OD{HUMOUR}{becomE}D}?

    I can see Humour = Fun, but am not able to piece together the rest.

  3. 1D- Does 'wary' give shy? Wary is careful,watchful etc. I could not get the meaning as shy.

    1. Hi Paddy. See the meanings of Shy. You will find it. Shy also means to be Distrustful/Wary. As in 'shy of strangers'.

  5. So stately his form, and so lovely her face,
    That never a hall such a galliard did grace;
    It was in the poem Lochinvar that I first met the word galliard. Read rhe full poem of the gallant màn.

    1. Thank you for reminding me of this poem. I read it in school. Our English teacher was a huge Walter Scott fan and she used to recommend us reading his works.
      Sadly I read only one Ivanhoe. The others, Kenilworth and the rest I have still to read.
