Step up
AJ you are being promoted from Novice to regular. You are no longer eligible to post as a non-regular/novice, this is applicable for Friday's as well when you will have to wait till 11 AM
DeleteMe? Regular!
DeleteYes, as you are no longer a novice/non-regular
DeleteThank you col. You have used the word 'promoted'. So I am expected to be happy, though I have a feeling of having lost an opportunity.
DeleteCould guess how you feel, AJ (a few months back I felt the same).
DeleteCongratulations and welcome to the regulars.
Thank you Mr. Rao. Is it a kind of retirement? When you were promoted you almost made clear how you felt. I never guessed that mine was in the pipeline.
DeleteNow you can try making puzzles for Sunday Special (like I did) to start with. God speed.
DeleteI really have no idea how to go about it. Let me see.
DeleteThe general idea of promoting is in the context of giving more novices/non-regulars a chance to come out and participate in the blog
DeleteAJ has become a regular cracker. Good one.
ReplyDeleteThank you KKR for an enjoyable crossie- looks like a long time since we solved one of yours. Used to be fairly regular on Sunday specials.
ReplyDeleteThanks Paddy.
DeleteYes, I have almost readied one for the blog. But the IXL made me to go slow on it.
Mad travelling, and somehow IA not opening on any of my jio phones, so had been forced to cold solve for past few weeks.
DeleteHappy to say, got all but for the DELAY (the noun didn't strike for quiet sometime) and CENOTAPH (i went on oposite direction with "withdraw quietly").
Those who are interest in cricket as well as CW's can solve the IPL special by Sowmya (link given at top left) Good and interesting to match with the booming start of IPL.
ReplyDeleteI never see these links. I'm accessing the blog through my phone. Is that a problem?
DeleteIn the mobile version, you have "VIEW WEB VERSION" below HOME button at the bottom. If you click on this button, you can see the links. Try it.
DeleteCol, The picture of tulsi that you have used above evokes memories in me but, alas, they are tinged with sadness. In the big independent house in which our family lived (which was developed in 1990 - not solely but with other neighbouring properties belonging to nine owners in all) had a large thulasi maadam with a plant. My mother and other ladies of the house used to offer worship to it every day. Behind it there were many thulasi plants growing wildly and profusely, propagating themselves with the seeds dropping from the plants and ground water taking care (of course, my mother used to water the plant in the 'maadam'). At that time, busy with work and raising the family, I used to go to the temple occasionally but it never occurred to me to take a bunch of the plant to offer to any deity as I have been seeing visitors do now when I go to the temple more regularly). As see devotees buy thulasi from the flower-sellers, I become wistful about my not doing it in those palmy days.
ReplyDeleteWe have it in a pot on our terrace and like you said the seeds have fallen into adjacent pots and we have Tulsi plants sprouting all over
DeleteCV sir, nicely mentioned the perfect name of Tulsi "Maadam". Now a days we could see very rare. Instead we kept in a special pot
Delete24a Charade? Really :very, faint:light!
ReplyDeleteYes, Sree_Sree, I intended it as charade
DeleteSimilarly, my intended answer for 23DN is [+B-g]RIEF
DeleteReally faint is very light so it can be a DD as well
DeleteThe wording (G for B in SHORT)leads to GRIEF
DeleteAlways wonder with this type of clue, what happens if they come in competitive grids like IXL.
DeleteIt did happen in last year's IXL when it was decided to accept both as correct.
DeleteNice grid, KKR garu!
ReplyDeleteThanks MBgaru!
DeleteNice puzzle KKR garu. I felt 'at home' (liked 6dn )
ReplyDeleteThanks DNM Raogaru!
DeleteNice puzzles KKR. solved few. 4d. I got the answer. but Anno. could not provide the way Mr.AJ presented. learned many things from this small puppet.
ReplyDeleteI mean to say the puzzle.i.e Punch and Judy : puppets. Mr AJ did well.
DeleteThanks Prasanna Rao!
DeleteVery nice grid today. My favourites are 4d, 14d, 19a and 16a in that order.
ReplyDeleteThanks AJ! Congrats on your elevation!
DeleteThank you Mr.KKR. These days, the entire grid is solved at the latest by 9 a.m. I will have nothing left to post at 11a.m. Anyway I am happy that I could solve 4d which was at the top of my favourites list.
DeleteLooking at the grid, I decided to start from 16 Ac, which was an immediate solve. The rest went smooth. Very ENJOYABLE fare. Thanks KKR Ji.
ReplyDeleteThanks Nagendra Prasad!
DeleteAn enjoyable puzzle, easy going. Thank you, Karaoke!
ReplyDeleteThanks Amita!
