  1. Nice puzzle! Liked 17d with the definition in full view but cunningly hidden. Also liked the cockney rhyming slang iin 14 A. 18A can only appear in crosswords.

  3. Answer to 17 D should be “Ellipsis” rather than “Ellipses”? The latter is a geometrical term.

    1. You're right. The ans is ELLIPSIS, anaf of spies all. The def is the series of three dots.
      Maybe if there are two series of thhree dots, we can say ellipses, on the analogy of crisis/crises. .
