  4. I have seen white toadstools. Do they come in colours too as in the picture the Col has chosen and placed above? How do they get colours? In what colours do they come?

    1. Nature’s way of giving poisonous toadstools warning or aposematic colouration. Usually shades of orange and red.

    ETERNAL: persistent
    Independent: external
eternal is external- x the cross mark indicating vote in the ballot paper

  6. Thanks AJ. After the AVMs, I seem to have forgotten the X stamp. But newspapers still use that mark in their graphics as a representation for vote.

  8. Feeling worse than yesterday on seeing Raju smile at us on opening the page. A good timely act by Col. It is difficult to come to terms with it- like Vasanth says in his mail.

    1. Around a couple of years back, while exchanging emails with Raju, he mentioned how he misses doing The Times Crossword. That's when I told him I can send him the Crosswords.
In between, I somehow stopped sending and he immediately asked why I had stopped.
Such was his passion for collecting and solving Crosswords.
He had written when I will be coming to Coimbatore to meet him and see his collection.
Sigh.. I can now never meet him.
