  26. 21A is my COD. Every word is so apt and just fits snugly in position.
    Use of 'Ground' as anagrind and its suitability to go with pitch make it a superb clue! This is the kind of surface reading that stands out. A place for every word and every word in its place,if I may borrow that expression.

    1. It's a CD. Backspace key can remove a letter/ character assassination.

  33. As Vasant has said it above, it is a CD. Character could be a person or a letter of the alphabet. One uses the Backspace key to delete/ assassinate characters.
