  15. At the outset, apologies for logging-in late, almost half-n-hour post noon
I did manage to solve almost all but was stuck at 6-D since I reckoned Irishman to be IAN (a common first name).
All said and done, a big PAT on the back of all those who solved it unlike me, wondering as to what the solution could be!!!

  16. Ian is a Scottish first name, not an Irish one.
Sometimes we have to work back from Pathan-Afghan national gives us the indication.

    1. Thanks, but you praise me too much...

As Sahir says, " mujhse behtar kehane wale" setters are still around or have come and gone...

And it would honestly be an albatross to produce daily puzzles

    2. To keep it topical, I would say "thank you for the Pat on the back " ;)

    6. Kishore: I have read the entire one. I have Sahir's complete works. It is one of my prized possessions.

    7. I should say, "selected works" and not complete..his entire work was a huge canvass
